This is Your Moment

Have you ever wondered about your past and the decisions you have made?  Have you ever regretted those actions? Of course!  We all have.  Here’s some freedom…(Galatians 5:1)

When Moses was on the mountain and found that there was a bush burning but not being consumed, well, he found God.  Moses had asked God for His name and this was God’s response, I Am.  Exodus 3:14 states “God said to Moses, “I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you.’”  God named Himself “I Am.” It’s interesting to point out that you have “found” God as well…right?

God didn’t say “I was” or “I’m going to be”, He said I am.  He’s a right now God.

Now, you’ve heard that we aren’t to live in the past, and you likely know that you can’t live in the future.  But, where you can live is here and now! We are made in the image of God (Genesis 1:26).  If God is a right now God, then we, who are made in His image, can be right now people.  Unlocking the secret that God isn’t stuck on your past, or concerned for your future, well, is freeing. He wants us to turn to Him.

To God, time is moot, He’s Eternal (technically we should see ourselves this way).  In Psalm 90:4 is explains, A thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night.  Therefore, He’s not constrained to the rising and setting of the sun. If you were in space, the earth and its days would soon look less like time and more like shadows and reflections. The Father is not interested in your past, and quite frankly, He knows your outcome (ooh the Armenian cringe).  But what He would like from us is our attention, our devotion, and that only happens right now. The most spiritual you can be is when you turn to Him.

Eternal Past <——————*———————>   Eternal Future

That tiny speck in the middle is now, every moment in time is the middle of eternity, and this is where God is, I Am. Now!  We need to understand that God is a loving father and is here and now, we just need to run to Him like a child runs to the arms of his/her father.  God doesn’t want it any other way, He wants us to run to Him, and you can do it!
